These are trips we took side-by-side. These are memories that cannot be replaced in another time or space. At the time of his passing, my motorcycle had approximately 25,000 miles on it - 19,000 miles of which were spent side-by-side with my father.

Moving From The Midwest

My first memories of my father and Harley Davison dated back to when we lived out on our family farm in Council Bluffs, IA. He would ride his fire engine red FLH Dresser leading the local parade dressed as Santa Claus. That is just the kind of man he was.

Over time that bike ended up being totaled but there were plenty of bikes to come over the years. My Mother, Linda Burkett (James' wife of over 40 years) knows the history of my father's love for bikes. She has been around for every bike he ever owned.

Somewhere in the midst of all of this my family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where my father often attended events on one of his bikes. In Omaha he had two and sometimes three bikes. As I grew older I even attended some of the events with him.

Miles worth of Memories
